What do you mean by Leadership

Each of us have gone through a moment where we have felt that we are under the wrong leadership or have said who has put that person in charge. Always thought about how ideal the scenario should be or how I can handle the situation differently.
Before answering the question let us take a step back and Answer: Does it really matter who is the leader or how a leader should have made the decision which would have led us to success. In a nutshell I would say Yes or No. There is a study that shows how leadership affects the success of a company and surprisingly there correlation is only 30% i.e even if we have the greatest leaders the probability of succeeding is only 30%. Now it is easy to say that a decision taken by a leader does not matter as there is so much uncertainty it would not matter in the long term is it? . As we all are learning more about culture and how it is an integral part of any strategic plan we are getting to know more and more about how a leader plays a pivotal part in a company's culture. How actions of leaders pave the way for others and how decision making is affected in the company. We know that a leader's action can be either fatal or encouraging for companies to succeed. Again we are in a dilemma that does it matter how the decisions are made by leaders.
Again the answer is Yes or No because how decisions made by leaders will affect the success of the company or project is a paradox. I would like to call it the success paradox. Why? Because if the project is successful then a leader should believe that it was due to uncertainties and luck and if the project was a failure then he should convey through actions that how decisions should have been taken differently so that we could have succeeded.
We should always remember a thing of success. If we gain it always remember that it was luck and do not overwhelm yourself with overconfidence and if we fail even though we know that there are uncertainties that played out which restricted our success remember to convey the message that we need to work hard and should have made smarter decisions. Because that is the only thing which will throttle us to move towards success. Because once your actions speak that it is always luck and we failed due to it. It is very difficult to gather the team for the next battle. Even if it seems unfair a leader should always remember that success is luck and failure is a fault then only we can go in the cycle of Build-Test-Learn model. To conclude the answer is not very simple on how the leaders should take decisions as there are other factors that play : Biases and Noise.
